2. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website or requesting a service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Thai law. If you are acting on behalf of a third party — for example, submitting a timepiece owned by a family member — you confirm that you have their authority to do so.
These terms apply each time you visit the website or initiate a service request. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use our website or services.
3. Service Description
Sawasdee Time provides specialist watch repair and restoration services from our workshop in Bangkok. Our principal services are:
- • Mechanical Movement Service — full overhaul including cleaning, lubrication, and timing regulation, with a five-day observation period. From ฿2,600.
- • Vintage Restoration — conservation-focused work for pre-1980s and heirloom pieces, carried out following an initial consultation. From ฿4,800.
- • Crystal and Bracelet Refinement — crystal replacement and case/bracelet refinishing for mechanically sound watches. From ฿7,900.
Services are provided from our Bangkok workshop and are available to clients throughout Thailand. We may, at our discretion, accept timepieces sent by post from outside Thailand, subject to a separate written agreement covering transit responsibility.
Service availability is subject to workshop capacity. We will communicate expected turnaround times at the point of quotation. Stated durations are estimates and may vary based on parts availability or the condition of the timepiece.
4. User Responsibilities
When using our website or services, you agree to:
- • Provide accurate information when submitting a service enquiry or describing a timepiece.
- • Inform us of any known defects, prior repairs, or modifications to the watch before we begin work.
- • Disclose any relevant provenance information for vintage or antique pieces where it may affect the approach to restoration.
- • Collect your timepiece within 30 days of our notification that the service is complete, unless a different arrangement has been agreed in writing.
- • Use this website and its content only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not interfere with others' use.
Storage of uncollected items: If a timepiece is not collected within 60 days of our completion notice, we reserve the right to charge a daily storage fee. We will attempt to contact you before exercising this right.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, service descriptions, and design elements — is the property of Sawasdee Time and is protected under Thai copyright law (Copyright Act B.E. 2537) and applicable international agreements.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to access and view this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not include the right to reproduce, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our prior written consent.
Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of intellectual property to you. Brand names, model names, and calibre references used on this website refer to the respective manufacturer's products and are used for identification purposes only.
6. Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. A written quotation will be provided before any work commences. No work will begin until the quotation has been accepted by you.
- • Payment methods: Cash (Thai Baht), bank transfer, and major credit/debit cards are accepted at the workshop.
- • Payment timing: Full payment is due upon collection of the timepiece, unless a deposit arrangement has been agreed in writing for larger restoration projects.
- • Quotation changes: If during service we discover a condition that requires additional work beyond the original scope, we will contact you before proceeding. No additional charges will be incurred without your approval.
Cancellations: You may cancel a service before work has commenced without charge. If work has already begun, we reserve the right to charge for the proportion of work completed. Parts that have already been ordered on your behalf may not be fully refundable.
We do not offer refunds after a service has been collected unless a defect in our workmanship is identified within the post-service period described in Section 7.
7. Service-Specific Terms
Mechanical Movement Service
Each completed movement service includes a five-day observation and timing check. A written condition report is provided on collection. We stand behind our work: should the same timepiece develop a fault directly attributable to our service within 90 days of collection, we will assess it without charge and, if our workmanship is found to be the cause, carry out the necessary remedy at no additional cost.
Vintage Restoration
All restoration work is preceded by a consultation. You retain the right to decline the proposed approach after the consultation, in which case no service charge applies. We take care to preserve original dial surfaces, hands, and case lines where this is your stated preference. Some marks or signs of age may remain in keeping with the watch's history, and this is not considered a defect.
Crystal and Bracelet Refinement
Crystal replacements are matched to the model and era where materials allow. We will advise you of any cases where an exact match is unavailable before proceeding. Bracelet sizing is carried out to your measurements and tested for link tolerance. If you are unsatisfied with the fit after collection, please return the watch within 14 days for adjustment.
Handling of Valuable Pieces
Sawasdee Time exercises the level of care appropriate to the value and age of each piece entrusted to us. We recommend that clients arrange their own insurance for particularly valuable timepieces while they are in our care. We are not liable for loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to unforeseen failure of aged components.
8. Disclaimers
The information on this website is provided in good faith for general reference purposes. While we aim to keep service descriptions and pricing accurate, we cannot guarantee that all information is free from error or will remain current at all times.
Watch servicing involves working with aged mechanical components, some of which may be fragile or in a condition that is only fully apparent once the movement is opened. We will notify you of any such findings before proceeding further, but we cannot be held responsible for the failure of pre-existing weaknesses that become apparent during a service.
The opinions and assessments provided in our condition reports reflect our professional view at the time of service. They do not constitute a formal appraisal for insurance or sale purposes.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Thai law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from a service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that particular service.
We shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses — including loss of sentimental value or loss of use — except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Force majeure: Neither party shall be liable for delays or failure to perform that arise from events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, civil disturbance, or government action.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sawasdee Time, its staff, and its representatives from any claim, cost, or liability arising from your misuse of our website, your breach of these terms, or any misleading or inaccurate information you provide in connection with a service request.
11. Termination
Either party may bring a service agreement to a close at any time before service work has commenced, by giving written or verbal notice. Where work is in progress, the provisions of Section 6 (Payment Terms — Cancellations) apply.
We reserve the right to decline a service request at our discretion, without obligation to state a reason, provided no work has yet commenced and no payment has been accepted.
12. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from or in connection with our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
Informal resolution: Before initiating formal proceedings, we ask that you first contact us at [email protected] to allow an opportunity to resolve the matter informally. We aim to respond to all formal complaints within five working days.
Your rights under the Thai Consumer Protection Act B.E. 2522 and other applicable consumer laws are not affected by these terms.
13. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement — These terms, together with any written service quotation, constitute the full agreement between us regarding the subject matter and supersede any prior discussions.
- Severability — If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
- Waiver — Our failure to enforce any provision of these terms on a given occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision in future.
- Assignment — You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent. We may transfer our obligations to a suitably qualified successor in the event of a change in workshop ownership.
- Notices — Written communication may be sent to us at the workshop address or by email to [email protected].
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, applicable law, or operational practice. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
Your continued use of this website or our services after a change has been posted indicates your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with a change, please contact us before proceeding further.
