Why Sawasdee Time

What Sets Our Workshop Apart

No Work Without Inspection

Every watch is examined under magnification before a quote is given. We describe what we find honestly, and nothing is done without your agreement.

Written Condition Reports

After a mechanical service, you receive a written summary of what was found, what was done, and any notes that may be useful at the next service interval.

Correct Lubricants, Correct Points

Different oils belong at different contact points. We use the appropriate lubricant for each part of the movement, not a single compound applied everywhere.

Heirloom-Sensitive Approach

Vintage and family pieces are handled with an understanding that their significance is personal. We ask about the owner's wishes before touching dial or case surfaces.

Five-Day Timing Observation

Mechanical movements are tested across multiple positions over five days after reassembly. A watch leaves only when its daily rate is within an acceptable range.

Walk-In Welcome, Soi 33

Our Sukhumvit Soi 33 workshop is open six days a week. You are welcome to bring your watch in person and speak with the technician who will be working on it.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a mechanical service typically take?

A standard mechanical overhaul takes around two to three weeks from the day the watch arrives. This includes disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and the five-day timing observation period before we contact you for collection.

Do you service all watch brands?

We work with a wide range of mechanical and automatic movements regardless of brand. After initial inspection, we will let you know if a piece falls outside our current capability — for example, highly specialised complications may be better handled by a brand's own service centre.

What is included in the ฿2,600 mechanical service price?

The quoted price covers disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning of all components, inspection of pivots and jewels, appropriate lubrication, reassembly, and the five-day timing observation. If during inspection we find parts that need replacing, we will discuss the cost separately before proceeding.

Can I leave a vintage watch for restoration?

Yes. We welcome pre-1980s mechanical watches and family heirlooms. The vintage restoration process begins with a consultation where we discuss your wishes for the piece — how much of the original patina to preserve, whether to source period parts, and what the expected outcome will look like.

Is it possible to send a watch by courier?

We do accept watches sent by registered post or courier within Thailand. Please contact us first so we can advise on safe packaging and ensure someone is available to receive the parcel. We recommend insuring the item for its replacement value before dispatch.

How should I store a mechanical watch I'm not wearing?

A mechanical watch that is not worn regularly will eventually run down its reserve and stop. This is normal. If it is stored for longer periods, the oils inside the movement may thicken. We generally suggest bringing a watch in for service if it has been sitting unworn for more than three years.

Do you offer a service after the work is completed?

We stand behind the quality of our work. If a watch develops an issue that relates directly to the service we performed, please bring it back for us to assess. We will review the situation and discuss the most appropriate course of action with you.
